Courtroom Technology Specialist

Location: Tyler, Texas

Courtroom Technology Specialists oversee the day-to-day operation of technology used in the court and courtrooms and ensure reliable and effective operation. Incumbents troubleshoot both hardware and software systems and train end users in the use of equipment and software. There are seven divisional offices within the Eastern District of Texas: Beaumont, Lufkin, Marshall, Plano, Sherman, Texarkana, and Tyler. Assignment of the position is in the Tyler office.

Information Technology (IT) Training Specialist

Location: Tyler, Texas

The IT Training Specialist works closely with other IT department staff members to obtain and maintain intimate knowledge of the applications and technologies which are prevalent within the court. Heavy emphasis is placed on applications and technologies used by judges and their staff. With this knowledge the incumbent assesses the training needs of individual court units and chambers across the district. Incumbent then develops training materials (i.e. Electronic Learning Modules, documentation, etc.), and determines the best methodologies for presenting these materials and for scheduling training sessions. Incumbent is also responsible for the ongoing security awareness program within the district.
