Beaumont Law Day Art Contest
In 1958, President Dwight D. Eisenhower designated May 1st as Law Day, which is meant to
celebrate and strengthen the American heritage of liberty, justice, and equality under the law. The
contest is intended to help students and the public understand how the law protects our American
freedoms. Judges, court personnel, attorneys, and other dignitaries will honor the prize winners,
their parents, and teachers at a ceremony to be held at the U.S. Courthouse in Beaumont on Friday,
April 22, 2011. All winning and honorable mention entries will be framed and displayed for twelve
months at the Courthouse.
